Located close to the valley is this highly revered lake considered as sacred by Hindus and Buddhists. With tranquil surroundings and unbelievable exquisiteness, it is undoubtedly among the best places for sightseeing in Chopta Valley.

The highest fresh water lake in India, it is located about 5 km. from Gurudongmar Lake and can be accessed only with restricted area permit from the Indian Army.

Trekking is a thoroughly enjoyable activity at Chopta Valley, the Muguthang Valley trek being the most thrilling one. The alpine valley is equally charming and can captivate one’s attention with beautiful sights. It is a great experience to come across snow-clad mountains, wandering rivers and lush green pine forests on this trekking route. 

Apart from trekking, one can also enjoy water sports and angling in the region. Bird watching is one of the major draws, as many exotic species of Himalayan birds can be spotted here. Those visiting during winters can experience the adventurous activity of walking on the frozen water bodies.
