Located thousands of feet above the sea level and exquisitely pampered by Mother Nature, Chopta Valley boasts of spectacular beauty and heart-warming environment. Encircled by snow-clad mountain peaks of Himalayas, the place is located in North Sikkim and is constantly grabbing attention among nature lovers and adventure tourists. Similar to many northeast India tourist places, Chopta Valley remains unspoiled by modernization and has a heavenly charm which can only be experienced and not explained.

Enjoying the elevation of about 4,000 m., Chopta Valley is better described as the mystic abode of Gods by the tourists visiting the place. Snow-fed streams and rivulets flowing all over the region add to the delight of being here. Add to the trip the amazing opportunities of exploring holy lakes and exhilarating trekking trails and one is ready for a memorable journey. The valley amuses the visitors in summers with its colourful vegetations and in winters with its snow adventures. The place experiences extremely cold winters with minimum temperature constantly touching sub zero level.

Chopta Valley has practically no designated places to eat at. However, the nearby villages like Thangu and Lachen host good eating points serving cuisines from India, Tibet and Nepal. Momos are the mouth-watering dumplings that can be enjoyed here. Noodles are also popular in the region. A dessert called Lopchu is also worth trying. Beer native to the region is prepared from millets and is good to taste.
