Day by Day itineraryDay 1: Dehradun to Sankri(1950 m.)
This day, you drive from Dehradun to Sankri. It takes around 10 hours of drive to reach Sankri village. Sankri is located at a height of 1950 m. above the sea level. During the drive, you come across a beautiful scenic view of pine forests. The route becomes more divine as the Yamuna River can be seen flowing along the drive. The snow-capped mountain peaks surrounding this placekeeps you thrilled with fun and excitement. On arrival at Sankri village, check in at the hotel and relax. Later explore the beautiful village and take the dinner. Overnight stay is arranged at the hotel.
Day 2: Sankri to Judaka Talab (4 km. trek, 2757m.)
From this day you commence the trek. The day starts with morning breakfast and later you head towards trek from Sankri to JudaKa Talab. The trek distance is 4 km. which takes around 5 hours to reach. JudaKa Talab is situated at an altitude of 2757 m. above the sea level. The trek route passes through a beautiful forest. The difficulty level of this trek route is moderate in nature. The trek is a gradual hike, till you reach the Saur village. After reaching the village, take some refreshments and proceed further. The route from Saur is again gradual ascending. You cross several bridges during the trek which are made of wooden logs. This makes the gradual hike more exciting. After reaching JudaKa Talab, you notice a small pond ofwater with surroundings of oak and pine trees. Set up the camp here for an overnight stay. Relax and enjoy the beautiful view of snow-capped mountains and later take dinner.
Day 3: JudaKa Talab to Kedarkantha Base (3409 m., 4km. trek)
The day begins with early morning breakfast and few exercises. Then you begin the trek from JudaKa Talab to Kedarkantha Base. The trek to Kedarkantha Base is approximately 4 km. This place is located at an altitude of 3409 m. above the sea level. The trekking path is a gradual hike with the Himalayan ranges in the background. The view of the risingmountain peaks with snow covered on them is very mesmerising. After hiking for about 1.5 km., you reach a meadow with lush green grass. Many shepherds can be seen here grazing their sheep. Proceed further towards the Kedarkantha base. You come across a lot of flora and fauna with snow patches in between. The scenic view of mountains and the green valley is a perfect place to click pictures. Hiking through the scenic locals is an enthralling experience. After arrival at the Kedarkantha base camp, enjoy the splendid view of snow-capped Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini and Kalanag peaks. Take dinner and retire to the campsite for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Kedarkantha Base to Kedarkantha Peak (3788 m.) toHargaonCampsite(2696m., 6km.)
The day starts with early morning hot breakfast. Then you head for the trek from Kedarkantha Base to Kedarkantha Peak. The peak is located at the height of 3788 m. above the sea level. The trek distance is not long but it requires a lot of energy and willingness as the climbing is steep. After trekking for about 4 to 5 hours along the beautiful panoramic sight of Himalayan ranges, you reach the Kedarkantha Peak. The cold winds and snow blanket makes the peak visit an unforgettable experience. The majestic view of Kinner Kailash, Yumnotri, Gangotri, and other Himalayan ranges is a divine pleasure. Kedarkantha gives a360-degree view of Himalayan ranges. After spending few hours at Kedarkantha Peak, we descend towards Hargaoncampsite, which is located at the height of 2696 m. above the sea level. The distance is about 6 km. Descending makes this trek route relatively easier. After arrival at the Hargaon campsite, take the dinner and retire for an overnight stay in the camp.
Day 5: Hargaon to Sankri(6 km.)
The day begins with morning breakfast and then we start our trek from Hargaon to Sankri. The trek route is 6 km. long and takes around 6 hours to reach. The descent is very steep at thisplace and needs to be done with utmost care. Your trekking route passes through maple oak forests. Along the way towards Sankri village, you cross many bridges and pass through the Har Ki Doon valley. The pleasant weather keeps you refreshed all the time. After arrival at Sankri village, relax and explore the village. Later take the dinner and retire for the day for an overnight stay.
Day 6: : Sankri to Dehradun
This is the last day of the trek. Take the morning breakfast and checkout from the hotel. Proceed for the drive from Sankri to Dehradun, which would take around 10 hours to reach. The total distance is around 250 km. The beautiful view of the surroundings during the drive will always keep you occupied. Reach the railway station or airport at Dehradun and proceed for your onward destination.
