Stated below are some of the must visit places at Zunheboto:
Ghosho Bird Sanctuary
Set up with the help of the local villagers, this bird sanctuary is home to more than 20 endangered species of birds. It is possible to encounter few migratory birds at this sanctuary which is among the must visit places at Zunheboto.
Satoi Range
Lush green vegetations adorn this mountain range that can be accessed by various trekking trails. Few varieties of rhododendrons also grow in this area. One may also come across the rare bird species like Blyth’s Tragopan. Adventurers may find it exciting to set up jungle camps here while sightseeing in Zunheboto.
Culture
The main attraction of the town is the tribal culture. People dressed up in war dresses and traditional multicolour attires get engaged in war dance and folk performances. Feasts during the popular festival of Tuluni in July are simply mind-blowing. Ahuna in November is another popular festival of the region.
One can also visit the skull houses of various villages in the town. These houses accommodate the skulls collected by the Sumi warriors through the practice of headhunting (which has been abolished now). Churches and vintage points across the region can also be visited.
