Samadhi Temple
The chief attraction of Shirdi is the temple of Sai Baba’s Samadhi (burial place). White marble statue and Samadhi of Baba are treats for the eyes. It is recommended to attend one or all of the four aartis (prayers) performed everyday.
Dwarakamai
It is a sacred mosque which served as the dwelling place of Sai Baba during his long stay in the town. The highlights of this place include grinding stone and stone seat used by Baba. An eternal dhuni (fire) lit by Baba himself continues to burn at this place. Pilgrims can obtain the ash of this holy fire.
Chavadi
Located near to Dwarakamai is this another holy place where Baba used to spend every alternate night. One must attend the procession that carries Baba’s stick and slippers in a palanquin from Dwarakamai to this place every Thursday.
Gurusthan
Among the must visit places at Shirdi is this holy neem tree where Sai Baba appeared for the first time, indulged in deep meditation.
Lendi Bagh
A popular place for relaxing, meditating and sightseeing in Shirdi, this garden was made by Sai Baba. He would water the plants of this garden with his own hands.
Dixit Wads Museum
Apart from exploring exhibits like Baba’s photos, robe, chillum, utensils and other items, one can obtain unique tourist information about Baba’s life from this place.
Other attractions in Shirdi include Khandoba Temple, Jain temples and many temples dedicated to Hindu deities. Abdul Baba’s Cottage and Laxmibai Shinde’s House (where nine coins of Baba are exhibited) are also worth visiting.
