Brahma Temple
The Brahma Temple is located close to the Pushkar Lake. This temple is believed to be 2000 years old and is the only temple dedicated to Hindu God Brahma. It is believed that the first consort of Lord Brahma, Goddess Saraswati cursed Brahma that he would only be worshipped in the Pushkar city. That is the reason why there are no other temples of Lord Brahma.
This temple has the idols of Lord Brahma and his second consort, Gayatri. Large numbers of devotees visit this temple during Kartik Poornima, the full moon day of Kartik (October) month. The famous Pushkar Fair also starts on this day.
The temple walls have beautiful paintings of peacock which is considered to be the vehicle of goddess Saraswati.
