Sher Shah Masjid
Sher Shah Masjid is the oldest and the most beautiful mosque in Patna. It was built by the famous Afghan ruler, Sher Shah Suri, in 1545. The mosque is built in the Afghan style of architecture. Main attraction of this mosque is the central dome surrounded by four smaller domes in the middle of the roof. But, from all the angles, only three domes will be visible at a time.
Har Mandir Temple
Har Mandir, also known as Gurudwara Shri Patna Sahib, is a famous religious site for Sikhs. In remembrance of the tenth Sikh Guru, Gobind Sigh Ji, this gurudwara was constructed by Maharaja Ranjit Singh during the reign of Sikh Empire in Patna. After the Golden Temple of Amritsar, this is the second most important pilgrimage site for Sikhs.
Gol Ghar
Gol Ghar was constructed in 1786 to store the grains for the British Army. Storage capacity of this granary is 140,000 tons. The shape of Gol Ghar is circular resembling a stupa and you have to climb around 145 steps of the spiral staircase to reach the top to get the beautiful view of the city.
Mahavir Mandir
Mahavir Temple in Patna is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and is one of the most visited Hanuman temples in India. It is believed that if you wish for something by praying to Lord Hanuman in this temple, then the wish would definitely get fulfilled. This is the reason why thousands of devotees visit the Mahavir temple every year. There is a huge rush on Tuesday and Saturday and on the occasion of Ram Navmi.
Patna Museum
Tens of thousands of items displayed in the museum belong to different eras and consists of art objects, coins, paintings, bronze images, sculptures and other artefacts.
Many other attractions in the city include Patna Zoo, Kumhrara (excavated site of ancient Patliputra), Padri ki Haveli, Mahatma Gandhi Setu, Patna Planetarium and Gurudwara Gobind Ghat.
