Monasteries
Built during the Bhutanese period (in 1692), Thongsha Gompa or the Bhutan Monastery is the oldest Gompa in Kalimpong. Tharpa Choling Monastery is a depository home of old scriptures and documents that was built in 1937. Zong Dog Palri Fo-Brang Monastery was founded by Dalai Lama in 1976.
Nature Interpretation Centre
This place belongs to the Forest Department with a plethora of flora, fauna and local ecology. Apart from this center, Kalimpong is a city affluent with flower nurseries that are always found lush with orchids, gladioli, cacti, anthuriums, amaryllis, roses, dahlias, gerberas, and other colorful plants.
Dr. Grahams Homes Campus
This is now a public school. It was established in 1900, by Rev Dr. John Anderson Graham and imparted lessons to the children of British planters and local women. The events organized at this school are truly enjoyable.
Deolo View Point
Sited atop Deolo Hill at an elevation of 1914 metres, this place offers a enchanting view of the town of Kalimpong. The white snow peaks, colorful Kalimpong town and the gorgeous Teesta Valley do make a marvelous view from this point.
St. Teresa Church
This church resembles a Gompa and its walls are adorned with exquisite wood carvings that depict significant scenes from the Bible. The biblical personalities here look like Buddhist monks.
Mangal Dhaam
For the worshippers of Lord Krishna, this is a new construction and is of course open to everyone. With brilliant architecture, this temple is dedicated to Guruji Shri Mangaldasji and stands close to Thongsa Gompa.
Other than the above mentioned places, you will see the town with many colonial bungalows on Rinkingpong and Hill Top Roads. Some of these eye catching constructions are Morgan House, Surya Sadan, Crockety, Tashiding, Galingka, and Ringking Farm. Dharmodaya Vihar, Durpin Dara, Kali Mandir and Gauri Pur House (retreat of Rabindranath Tagore) are some more local places worth visiting in the town.
