Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary
Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary was established in 1988 to preserve the forest and its inhabitants. It has an area of 45.59 sq. km. in the Himalayan ranges. Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is situated at an altitude that varies from 900 to 2500 m. with a height of 2412 m. This place is famous for birds and wild animals, apart for the conservation and protection of the shrinking broad leaf oak (Quercus) forests of the Central Himalayan region. It inhabits 200 bird species.
Zero Point
Zero Point is a must visit place for tourist in Binsar. From this point, one can have a wonderful view of snowcapped mountain peaks of Kedarnath, Trishul, Shivling and the Nanda Devi temple.
Jageshwar Temple
This temple is considered as one of the most sacred place for Hindus and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Jageshwar temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples. The architecture of the temple itself is awe inspiring.
Mary Budden Estate
Mary Budden Estate is a 150 years old cottage located within the deep oak forest in the Kumaon hills. This historical estate comprises of two luxury cottages with a Shiva temple built with the old colonial style.
Binsar Mahadev
Binsar Mahadeev is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located about 70 km. away from Almora city. This is a popular pilgrimage where thousands of devotees come and worship every year.
Japanese Cave
Japanese cave is also known as "Abyau Binsar" by the local people of Kumaun region. The name Japanese cave became popular because the Japanese Army used it for their hiding purpose and logistic center.
