Pench National Park with its dense forest covers and rich biodiversity inspired Rudyard Kipling to the extent that he gave the world the classic Jungle Book. Spread over 758 sq. km. of area covered with teaks, bamboos and other species of trees as well as grasses and bushes, the park is home to the magnificent royal Bengal tiger. Other attractions of this award-winning park include black panther, sloth bear, leopards, jackal, Indian bison, wild dog, jungle cat, hyena, wolves, sambar, spotted deer, chital and many other animals.
The park is also home to a huge variety of birds and reptiles. An exclusive feature of the park is the dazzling kulu tree (Indian ghost tree) grown in several parts. River Pench flowing through the park offers wonderful rating opportunities. Safari in the park is possible in a jeep or on an elephant and private vehicles are also allowed. Additional fees are required for the safari trips and to hire guides.
