Showcasing the unbelievable wealth of orchids in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, Orchid Research Centre at Tipi is the place to explore more than 10,000 orchid plants belonging to more than 600 different species. Many of these species are rare and endangered and a visual treat to the eyes. Among the main attractions at the centre is the orchid glass house, exquisitely displaying orchids in pots and hanging baskets.
Established in the year 1972, the research centre has many other highlights which include four species houses, two natural orchidaria, an orchid herbarium (which also accommodates a library) and a tissue culture laboratory. Orchid museum within the park is yet another worthwhile section to explore the orchid photographs and specimen. The whole venue spreading over 10 hectare accommodates beautiful lawns and gardens and enjoys the beauty of forested hills all around.
