Lt. Coaker designed the map of Kodaikanal and included an exciting walkway along Mount Nebo in the year 1872. Over all these years, this paved walkway called Coaker’s Walk has become a must-visit attraction of this beautiful hill station. About 1 km. in length, the walkway is simply admirable for offering splendid views of the plains below.
If you are lucky enough to visit the place on a clear day, you can relish the remarkable views of attractions like Dolphin’s Nose, Pambar River Valley and the holy city of Madurai. Broken Spectre is one stirring phenomenon, by which one can see his or her shadow on the clouds or mist, can also be experienced here.
A telescope has been installed at an observatory room (entry fee INR 3 per head) that allows close views of outstanding natural settings. Beautiful trees and flowers beds laid along the path add to the charming beauty and relaxing environment of the place.
