True to the astounding nature of attractions at Munnar, the CSI Christ Church in the region can leave anyone amazed with its charismatic beauty. Built entirely of stones, the church boasts of windows covered with enchanting stained glasses. The church was constructed during the British rule by the English tea planters visiting the region. Today, it stands as a magnificent structure surrounded by incredible natural splendour.
The church came into existence in the year 1910, while the adjoining cemetery already existed since 1894. Some of the most alluring highlights in the church’s interior include brass plaques, rosewood pews and a beautiful chandelier. As you reach the place, it becomes irresistible to spend huge amount of time simply admiring the nature’s magnificence all over. The kind of peace and tranquillity this place enjoys is difficult to express in words. Presently, it is the headquarters of Munnar’s CSI Pastorate and is worth visiting during Christmas celebrations.
