The Chola Reign is marked with a series of striking temples like Brihadeeshwara Temple, the Subramanya Temple, Chandeeswera and Ragavendra Temple etc. The design of each of these temples is renowned for its size, delicate carving and enthralling detailing.
Among these temples, Brihadeeshwara Temple is very impressive and known as the ‘Emperor of Temples.’ Positioned within the Sivaganga Fort, it finds place among the finest temples of Thanjavur.
