Located about 10 km. away from Ranikhet, Chaubatia Orchard is popular as a wonderful picnic spot for locals and tourists equally. Its scenic surrounding and natural exquisiteness enamoured the heart of the 1868’s British Viceroy of India, Lord Mayo.
Positioned over 1800 mts. above sea level, the orchard provides a captivating view of the snow decked Himalayan Mountains. Overlooking the heights of a few religious spots like Trishul, Nanda Devi, Nilkanth and Nandaghunti, Chaubatia Orchard is known for its luscious peaches, apricots, apples and plums. The orchard consists of more than 200 types of fruits and flowers. Covering the area of about 600 acres, Chaubatia Orchard is also rich in vegetation that mainly comprises of silver oak, cypress, cedar, and pine trees.
