Catherine Falls also renowned as St. Catherine Falls is one of the most coveted sightseeing spots in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu known for enthralling cascading falls. The water showers from a height of 250 ft. amidst the emerald forest.
The name of the fall is said to be christened after the wife of M.D. Cockburn, who is believed to be the initiator of the coffee plantation in Kotagiri. Tourists can view the impressive waterfall from the Dolphin’s Nose for the most pleasurable and mind-boggling view. You can also take a road trip to the fall for the eye-catching beauty of the Mother Nature.
The water of St. Catherine Falls flows down and creates a water pool under the fall. Trekking fanciers can enjoy trekking in the Longwood Shola forest (about 3 km.) from Kotagiri. However, prior permission from the District Forest Department is mandatory.
