The historic Anand Bhavan has been the witness to the lifestyle of Nehru-Gandhi clan that gave birth to numerous prominent freedom fighters and political leaders. The two-storied building now operates as a museum displaying rooms and memorabilia associated with Motilal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. Designed in Victorian architectural style, the building is surrounded by a beautiful garden.
Jawahar Planetarium is one of the key highlights of the museum. A number of star and planet shows and activities like weighing one’s weight on moon and Jupiter attract the visitors. Located near to Anand Bhavan is the original Nehru family residence (today known as Swaraj Bhavan) that later served as the Congress headquarters during freedom struggle. ·
