Nestling in the grandeur and scenic beauty of towering snow-capped mountains of Himalayas; with the mighty Kanchenjunga (King of the Mountains) overlooking , snowy sentinels surrounding , lies a jewel of a town -most elegant,truely sophisticated and incredibly beautiful famously known as Darjeeling.

Itinerary Details

Day by Day itineraryDay 1: Arrive New Jalpaiguri Rly St. /BagdograAirport -Gangtok [130 kms / 4 hrs approx.]

Meet on arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport, drive to Gangtok.On arrival check into the Hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Enjoy dinner &Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 2: Gangtok

After breakfast, proceed for excursion to Tsomgo Lake- situated at a height of 12400 ft.With an average depth of 50 ft. The cool water of the Lake is perfectly attuned with the scenic beauty around. In evening return Back to Gangtok. Overnight stay atHotel.

Day 3: Gangtok- Kalimpong [85 Kms/ 3 hrs approx.]

After finishing breakfast on time go for a half day sightseeing covering Rumtek Monastery, DroulChorthen, Research Institute of Tibet ology, Directorate of Handicraft &Handloom &Enchey Monastery. In afternoon enjoy your launch and transfer to Kalimpong.On arrival, Check into the hotel& overnight stay.

Day 4: Kalimpong- Darjeeling[70 Kms/ 4 hrs approx.]

Today after early breakfast visit to Dello hills, Dr. Graham's Home, Flower Nurseries, Jang-Dong-PalriffoBrang and Durbin Dara Hills. After launch, transfer to Darjeeling. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Darjeeling.

Day 5: Darjeeling

Early morning tour to Tiger Hills (at around 4 am) to view sunrise over Kanchenjunga Peak (subject to clear weather). On way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop and back to hotel. In Afternoon go for a half-day sightseeing of Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Tenzing &Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre (Closed on Sunday) & Tea Estate. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 6: Darjeeling - NJP Railway / IXB Airport [100 Km / 03 Hrs approx.]

In the morning enjoy your breakfast and check-out from the hotel on time to proceed to NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport, for your onward destination.

I planned a South India tour from Chennai to Kochi. I asked from many different travel companies but I got the best and cheapest offer by 'Way to India'. That was two weeks travel plan. We visited so many wonderful places and we got enough time for some individual program too. In the first week we visited the historical places like temples, museums and some beaches. In the second week we visited amazing natural attraction. All happened at exactly fixed itinerary. We traveled with a comfortable panoramic mini bus and the bus driver (Mr. Ram) was very kind and talented who could manage a good restaurant for dinner and lunch every day. Thanks to Waytoindia for 10 day in Rajasthan- Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Mount Abu and Ahmedabad. Everything from pickup from Jaipur airport to drop at Ahmedabad airport was very smooth. The hotels booked in Jaipur and Udaipur were amazing. In Jaisalmer the camel ride and Jeep safari though a bit expensive was a good experience. The car and the driver for the entire 10 days was very good. Thanks to the driver Mahesh, who drove the 2 ladies for the entire 10 days safely and dropped us in time for the return flight to Bangalore.
