Baidyanath Jyotirlinga tour is one of the many 12 Jyotirlinga tour available with us.

It is the pilgrimage tour to visit the only Shiva Jyotirlinga located in the eastern part of India known as Baidyanath Jyotirlinga, it is located in Deoghar in the state of Jharkhand.

Baidyanath Jyotirlinga sometimes also as Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga.It is believed that the Shiva Lingam inside the temple dates back to the time of Ramayana and is associated with the demon king Ravana, counted among the most ardent followers of Shiva.

Baidyanath Jyotirlinga tour begins at Patna, the capital of the neighboring state Bihar and also the nearest airport to the Jyotirlinga temple.

It is worth mentioning that Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga Deoghar is considered as one of the 12 famous Jyotirlinga, many consider Parli Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga in the state of Maharashtra as the original one. Yet another temple by the same name in the state of Himachal Pradesh claims to be the one mentioned in Dwadasa Jyotirlinga Stotram.

Itinerary Details

Day by Day itineraryDay 1: Patna Arrival – Deoghar (about 253 km.)

Baidyanath Jyotirlinga tour begins from Patna Airport where you will be received by our tour representative. Begin the road journey to Deoghar with the representative and check in at the booked hotel on arrival. You may take rest for the day or visit some popular attractions like Naulakha Temple (dedicated to Radha Krishna), Nandan Pahar, Caves of Tapovan and more. Stay overnight at Deoghar.

Day 2: Baidyanath Jyotirlinga Visit

Have breakfast and get ready for Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga live darshan at the temple. The legend behind the temple and its Lingam states that Ravana, in order to strengthen his kingdom at Lanka, went to Lord Shiva and prayed him to accompany him to Lanka. Shiva blessed him with a Lingam and asked him to carry it to his kingdom without taking any break or placing the Lingam on ground on the way. Lord Ganapati, on the request of various deities and to stop Ravana from carrying Lingam to Lanka, tricked him on the way and placed the Lingam on ground. Ravana was unable to move it and it is the same Lingam that you would worship at Deoghar.

The temple opens at 04:00 a.m. and closes at 09:00 p.m. (it also closes between 03:30 p.m. and 06:00 p.m.). Pray at the temple and admire its lotus-shape structure. You may also visit 20 more shrines dedicated to different Hindu deities within the premises. Get back to the hotel for rest and return in the evening to attend Shringar Pooja. Watch as the priests worship the Lingam with scent, sandal paste, flowers and water. Get back to the hotel for night stay.

Day 3: Deogarh – Patna Departure

Begin the road trip back to Patna after breakfast. We will transfer you directly to the airport from where you board the flight back to home as the Baidyanath Jyotirlinga tour comes to an end.

Thanks to Waytoindia for 10 day in Rajasthan- Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Mount Abu and Ahmedabad. Everything from pickup from Jaipur airport to drop at Ahmedabad airport was very smooth.
