Day by Day itineraryDay 1: Guwahati Airport – Shillong (130 Kms / 3.5 Hours Drive Approximately)Upon arrival at the airport, our company representative will greet youassist you in transferring to Shillong.Once you have embarked on the road journey, savour on a good meal and make a quick stop en-route to enjoy some sightseeing.
Your tour commences in the beautiful north-east by visiting the Umium Lake (open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., no entry fees).It is one of the enormous water bodies that will soothe you with its purity. In Meghalaya, this lake serves to be a major tourist attraction because of it being a flourished destination for water sports and adventurous activities. Visitors can opt for scooting, kayaking, boating and water cycling and add on some thrilling experiences to their journey.This beautiful spot is also a part of a hydro-electric project. The lake is commonly known as Big Water or ‘Barapani’ because it is a supreme place to experience the natural magnificence of Shillong. The added emerald-tinted hill in the surrounding is another attraction that lures the tourists to this astonishing lake.

Day 2: Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Shillong (60 Kms / 2 Hours Drive Approximately)On day 2 of your Assam Meghalaya tour, enjoy breakfast and proceed to Cherrapunjee. It is aplace thathas been enrolled in The Guinness Book ofWorldRecord for being the wettest place on the earth. The title it has earned is because of the heavy rainfall recorded here year after year. It pours so much that the rainfall is measuredin feet rather than millimetres. The most exciting part is that there is only one season which is monsoon but surprisingly it rains only in the night so that it causes no disturbance for the tourists to explore this marvellous place. The rainfall may fluctuate from higher to lower but no month goes without aspiring rains.
After exploring this spectacular region, get back to Shillong by evening. Walk around in the astounding market areas, spending some time in Bara Bazar and Police Bazar which are one of the most electrifying markets for purchasing a variety of souvenirs. Do not forget to bargain as there are many chances of getting pricey and best quality gifts at affordable prices. Also, Police Bazaar is known as the leading shopping arcades in Shillong and is considered as a foremost marker of the city.
Later, return back to the hotel to spend the night in the comfort of the hotel.
Day 3: Shillong – Kaziranga (325 Kms / 7 Hours Approximately)After a fresh morning walk in the complex of your hotel, devour a healthy breakfast and check out of the hotel as you begin the third day of your Meghalaya tourism.
Start your journey to Kaziranga. This road trip would be thrilling as it will take you through dense jungles. Owing to the implementation of some incredible wildlife conservation actions, the region has effectively managed to nurture the population of superior one-horned rhinoceros. There is a gigantic expanse of giant elephant grass, swamp and the presence of Brahmaputra River gives this small forest landan alluring look.
On arrival at the hotel in Kaziranga, check in and enjoy an overnight stay amidst the lush greenery surrounding you.
Day 4: Kaziranga National ParkAfter an early morning breakfast, visit the Kaziranga National Park on the fourth day of your Assam tour package(open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., entry fees INR 100 / 650 for Indians / Foreigners). This park is identified for its good inhabitants of animals along with the floral and faunal conservation that ultimately adds to the popularity of the park.
A day full of adventures begins as you hop on to the jeep for the most exciting Elephant Safari. Later you will be taken alongside jungle areas which are covered by most lavished florals. You can choose to trek in the park and stumble upon exotic wildlife creatures along with some bird watching.
After enjoying the Safari, Boating awaits you at Kaziranga. You will be fascinated to feel some cool water splashes after a breath taking ride of safari. Later, you can also visit the tea and coffee gardens that will take you through the process of cultivation. Indulge in some tea and coffee tastings to refill and boot up energy for upcoming turns of the journey.
Get back to the hotel to spend the overnight and cherish the memories you made throughout the day.
Day 5: Kaziranga – Guwahati (250 Kms/ Approximately 5 Hours Drive)After some palatable morning breakfast, we will commence the fifth day of Assam Meghalaya tour with a long drive to Guwahati. The journey will give you ample opportunities to capture a bunch of pictures and preserve it in your memory vault.
Guwahati is the largest and one of the fastest growing Indian cities.This region gives its visitors a synopsis of diverse wildlife which includes exceptional animals such as Asian elephants, pythons, tigers, rhinoceros and much more. En-route, the mountainous regions and the pasture around the country-side lakes will leave you enthralled. Build you excitement as you make your way to the town that is surrounded by emerald green meadows and multi-coloured flowerbeds. Besides being an attraction, it is a huge tourist base point. On arrival check into the hotel.
In the evening visit the Shankardev Kalaskhetra (open 10 a.m. to 7 pm., free entry). It is a non-profit cultural institution that also houses a museum for art lovers, a library and provides a variety of facilities for preserving and demonstrating civilizing items. There is an open-air theatre in the Kalaskhetra premises where traditional dance and drama shows take place and are performed by trained and recognised artists from all corners of the world. The chance of catching one of such shows in an open theatre will set you back in amaze.

Day 6: Full Day Sightseeing in GuwahatiThe sixth day of this Assam Meghalaya package starts with some toothsome breakfast and visits to three very popular temples- the Kamakhya temple, the Navagraha temple and the Umananda temple.
The Kamakhya temple (open 7 a.m. to 5.15 a.m., no entry fees) is dedicated to the tantric goddess. The Devi is famous as the bleeding goddess and in the month of Ashaad (June), the goddess is believed to be menstruating and the Brahmaputra river near the temple turns red. The temple then remains closed for 3 days during that time and the holy water is distributed among the devotees.
The Navagraha temple (open 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., no entry fees) is the one that is dedicated to the nine main celestial bodies of Hindu astronomy. A Shivalingam is placed in the centre that symbolises the Sun.
The Umananda temple (open 5:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., no entry fees) is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is nestled in a serene peacock island amidst the mighty Brahmaputra. Sit down for some time here and absorb the exquisiteness of the place.
Later, return to the hotel in Guwahati for a delightful meal and to spend the night.
Day 7: Guwahati Airport for Departure
It is finally the day to wrap all the memories that you crafted and safely carry them back home. After consuming some healthy breakfast, checkout from the hotel and proceed towards the airport or railway station for onwards journey to home.
